This colorful chess set depicts Rus’ (modern day Russia) and the invading Mongol empire back in 1237. The Mongols were a fierce and feared army numbering in the tens of thousands. Within 3 years and many bloody battles the Mongols successful conquered the Rus’ empire. The pieces are artistically sculpted and finely detailed to capture the essence of the characters.
